Manchester Airport is directly connected to over 50 cities in the UK. Connections are supported by National Express. Tickets can be purchased at the tourist information centre at the arrivals hall at terminals 1 and 2, as well as at the First Opinion point at terminal 1 at arrivals level. Local carriers Stagecoach, Trent and Arriva offer rates on and from the airport station to Manchester, Altrincham and Stockport. Buses run every half hour from the early morning hours to late night hours. Stagecoach 43 runs every 10 minutes between the airport and Manchester city centre. A one-way normal ticket costs L 2.40.

There are over 100 calls per day from the airport, including to York and the Lake District. There are also night connections to Sheffield, Leeds, Hadersfield, Manchester, Bolton, Preston, Blackpool. During the day, there are 6 connections per hour to Manchester city centre, four at night. The journey to Manchester Piccadilly takes approximately 15-20 minutes. Many trains go further to Oxford Road, Deansgate, Salford Central Station. From Manchester Piccadilly, you can change trains to go everywhere in Great Britain. A normal ticket to Manchester Piccadilly is 3.25 pounds. Tickets can be purchased at any terminal just when you pick up your baggage, at the station or by phone, as well as via the Internet. Taxis in Manchester are waiting for passengers after each arrival at the exit from the terminals and at the train station and in a vehicular area known as the Station. The approximate fare to the centre of Manchester is around L 20. For courses in other directions, a fee must be agreed upon before driving.

The airport is located just off the M56 highway leading to North Wales and close to the M60 (Manchester bypass) and the M6 towards London. The airport is located 14 km from the centre of Manchester and 56 km east of Liverpool. London is 320 km south, a car trip takes about 3 hours. The journey to Manchester city centre takes about 15 minutes.
