Old but functional
Due to a long lay-over and the inability to check out luggage onto the next flight, we had to to sit on hard chairs, nodding out while we waited. There was no place quiet to sit. However, once we were able to check our luggage and go through security, the airport takes on a new life. Much more personable and pleasant. However, the security check point was a nightmare. Even in the Middle East, the security was not so ridiculous. At least the staff tried to be accommodating as much as possible.

Three quid charge just to get out of a taxi!
Manchester airport and other airports in the UK have now taken their greedy rip off practice to charging you just to arrive. As a response we did not open a single penny in the airport.
