New Zealand
New Zealand, called Aotearoa by the Maori, lies in the south-western Pacific, south-east of Australia. It consists of two main islands - the North Island and the South Island - along with several smaller ones such as Stewart Island. The capital is Wellington, while the largest city is Auckland, home to 1.5 million people. The climate is temperate, with mild winters and warm summers. The best time to visit is spring and autumn, when temperatures are pleasant and ideal for travelling.
