New Orleans was founded in 1718, as La Nouvelle-Orléans by French settlers under the supervision of Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville. After short period of Spanish reign on this area, and then again French one, the city was sold to the United States, becoming one of the most important American centres at the Mexican Gulf. French roots can be seen in, among others, restored buildings in historical French district, French Quarter, as well as influences made by the traditional European cuisine on New Orleans cuisine.

What you have to see there? Surely cemeteries, which – thanks to unusual tombs of irregular shapes and sizes – are one of the main attractions of the city. It is worth also to take a ride with historical trams and visit local zoo, in which lives alligator albinos, as well as Aquarium, where you can admire species of water animals living in the Mexican Gulf. How tastes New Orleans? Local cuisine is mix of two cuisine cultures.
