  • The National Aquarium Abu Dhabi

Located in Al Qana, the Middle East’s largest aquarium is home to over 46,000 aquatic animals, representing over 300 different species. This underwater zoo has over 60 attractions spread across 10 marine-themed zones, such as fiery volcanoes, UAE's Natural Treasures, sunken sea wrecks, and Atlantic caves, to name just a few.

  • Louvre Abu Dhabi

Designed by the Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel, Louvre Abu Dhabi is home to artworks and installations from around the world, but it is much more than just an art gallery. The museum is surrounded by water and can be reached by either land or sea. When the sun shines through the perforations of its dome (which features 7,850 stars made up of eight layers), it offers a spectacular show called “Rain of Light”. No wonder it is the most-visited museum in the region.

Soak Up The Glamour Of Abu Dhabi

Situated in the Persian Gulf on an island of the same name, Abu Dhabi has rapidly transformed itself from a desert city into the metropolis of the future. The emirate is named after the city of Abu Dhabi and is the largest of the seven Emirates that form the UAE. It offers beautiful views from the oasis city of Al Ain, through the endless dunes of the Empty Quarter to islands in the Gulf.

A place where tradition meets innovation, on the one hand, Abu Dhabi has a fully developed infrastructure, towering skyscrapers, and gleaming shopping malls. On the other hand, it is also home to historical and cultural gems such as the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Al-Hosn Fort and many fascinating museums. The diversity, rich culture and some of the region’s best beaches make Abu Dhabi one of the world’s most exciting destinations.

Why you should visit Abu Dhabi over the winter break

Looking for an unconventional way to spend the winter holidays? Abu Dhabi is a holiday paradise that offers year-round sunshine and winter is the best time to enjoy the city as the weather is ideal. You’ll easily forget that it is winter while relaxing on amazing beaches and spending quality time with your family and friends. However, if chilling poolside isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other options to keep you entertained. Head off-roading to see some of the country’s most stunning landscapes, such as the enormous dunes of Al Dhafra.

Why Abu Dhabi in summer is a great idea

Abu Dhabi beaches offer the perfect conditions to unwind, with scenic views and great facilities. There are great public beaches, such as the iconic Corniche Beach, as well as private hotel beaches for guests’ use only. Those seeking exclusivity will definitely enjoy the many first-class beach clubs that Abu Dhabi has to offer such as Saadiyat Beach Club. Although the clubs cannot be accessed for free, they are still worth visiting, with some offering such as restaurants, spas, or private beach huts, along with world-class service. They’re a great place to enjoy refreshing cocktails accompanied by a choice of gourmet snacks. However, Abu Dhabi’s most beautiful beach is undoubtedly Saadiyat Beach, which features a nine-kilometre arc of sand and plenty of five-star resorts in the area. For the most luxurious beach experience in Abu Dhabi, take a short boat ride to Zaya Nurai Island. One of the advantages of this gorgeous retreat is that it is way less crowded than other spots in Abu Dhabi.

Why is Abu Dhabi also a great choice for the rest of the year?

There are many reasons that Abu Dhabi is a popular destination. It is home to incredible culture and art, luxury shopping malls and epic tourist attractions. It also has a range of activities for people of all ages, spectacular infrastructure, and a rich heritage that make Abu Dhabi one of the most desirable destinations in the world. It has something for everyone and is full of wonders; for example, one one of its islands is home to thousands of rare antelopes. Still undecided? Most visitors return for a longer stay once they realize how much it offers.

Beautiful sand dunes of the Rub' al Khali Desert

The Rub’ al Khali, which boasts a total area of 650,000 square kilometers, is the largest contiguous sand desert in the world. It covers areas spanning the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Yemen, encompassing about a quarter of the Arabian Peninsula in total. Don’t be mistaken by its name, which literally translates as "The empty quarter" – if you pay enough attention you’ll find that the desert is bursting with life, with camels, gazelles, and even small lizards to be found here. Visit Abu Dhabi’s real natural wonder outside of the hottest months and experience nature in its purest form.

Yas Island’s theme parks

Yas Island is especially famous for being Abu Dhabi’s entertainment hub. Yas Marina Circuit hosts the most significant Formula 1 race every year – the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Out of season, both locals and visitors can rent a sports car to enjoy the ride of their life along the famous track. Adrenaline junkies can follow Fernando Alonso’s footsteps and go for a ride in the incredible Formula Rossa, the world’s fastest roller coaster, situated in the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi theme park. It goes from 0 to 100km/h in just two seconds and reaches a speed of up to 240 km/h. Give Formula Rossa a shot and experience a thrilling zero-gravity ride!

Yas Waterworld is also located nearby, offering countless incredible water slides and rides. Meanwhile, Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi has six film-themed lands, including Superman’s Metropolis and Batman’s Gotham City. If you are looking for a little peace and quiet, Yas Links Abu Dhabi offers a round of golf in a unique atmosphere. Finally, for an incredible shopping and dining experience, head for Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi's largest shopping mall, housing more than 400 shops.
