Geneva International Airport is the second largest airport in Switzerland. The port is located 4 km north of the centre of Geneva, close to the Swiss-French border. An interesting solution and convenience for passengers is its division into two sectors: Swiss and French. The airport is modern, well-organized, has two terminals and excellent connections with the network of highways, bus and railways. It serves as a hub for Swiss International Air Lines, easyJet Switzerland and Etihad Regional. Over 60 airlines servicing the airport offer connections from Geneva to the recreational and metropolitan cities of Europe, several long-distance routes to North America, China and the Middle East. Annually, the port serves over 15.8 million passengers. The nearest hotel base is located about a kilometre from the airport. Reservation is possible in the arrivals hall.

Bus
At the airport we also have at disposal a well-organized public transport. Traveling with this mean of transportation is extremely pleasant. An additional advantage is the fact that buses do not stand in traffic jams, because they have a separate lane at their disposal. Buses stop right at the airport. We have the following lines available:
Line 10 (Onex): to the city centre of Geneva,
Line 5 (International organizations): to the city centre of Geneva,
Line 28 (International organizations): to Meyrin, to Lake,
Line 23: Le Lignon – Lancy – Plan-les-Ouates
Line 18: to the headquarters of the UN.
From the airport, we can also reach France. The Aero-Express line offers regular connections between Geneva GVA and Grenoble. Airport Connect offers a shuttle service to Lyon.
Train
The airport has a railway station (final railway station CFF), from which trains run to all of Switzerland and Europe. All trains stop at the train station in the city centre – Geneva Cornavin station. Traveling by train between the airport train station and the city centre takes only 6 minutes. It is the fastest mean of transportation. Trains leave every 12 minutes. The access to ski stations in Switzerland is only possible by train – CFF trains. On the other hand, all major ski resorts in France can be reached by special buses that leave from the Geneva airport.
The airport also serves taxis. However, it is a very expensive mean of transportation, which does not necessarily translate into speed or quality of travel. Transfer from the airport to the city centre costs about 30-35 CHF depending on traffic jams, time of day and number of passengers. The basic tariff is: 6.30 CHF + 3.20 CHF / km. The prices given are approximate.
